Need help with hooking up a rev limiter

Hi guys! I noticed some youtube clips regarding rev limiters (Rajoitin in finnish?).. How did you guys hook the shit up? I've been looking for a rev limiter for some time now and have not found any.. Do you use the STP rev limiters? (the one that is most used for AM6 mopeds). Please do send link.. A guide on how to hook it up the bike would also be great! Just so that there will not be any missunderstanding - im talking about rev limiters that can be controlled with a switch in case of a police control..

I hope i posted this in the right forum.. My finnish is not very good, so was a little worried about that (a mirracle that i even got to register!!)

Most rev limiters that i'm aware are connected to ignitor coil wire, which is white-blue wire in honda and red-yellow(?) in skyteam. Some DIY-limiters are connected to ignition coil positive terminal and ground.. But i guess youre using some of those readily available ones.

Yes, those used in 2-strokes should work just fine, because system in monkey doesn't differ much. (It's a wasted spark system, spark occurs every rev, another one just goes to exhaust stroke..)

So in principle the rev limiter is mounted in the same way as the 2-stroke mopeds? I mean.. One cable hooked up to the Pick-Up cable in the coil and one cable hooked up to grounding or the minus pole on battery. Is the red-yellow cable you mentioned the Pick-Up?

Circuit diagram says its White red, red yellow seems to be cdi power wire.. I remembered wrong.

I once had one of those adjustable rev limiters on my Skyteam, and to be honest, it didn't work as well as I thought it would. It did not limit properly, for example if set to limit at 6000rpm, on full throttle it reved from 4000rpm to 7000rpm. This hasn't been confirmed with any sort of rev meter, it's just an example so you'll get the point. So the limiting wasn't "stable", but more of a wavy type, which surely attracts cops to search the whole bike.

And if you want a proper working and easy installing limiter, you should buy original honda cdi.

It limits rpm around 6500 and you can pass it by attaching led or 220kohm? resistor in to blue/white cable in honda wiring. (In skyteam red/white cable?)
